The Real Estate Market had crashed. I had found something new - Active Rain and blogging. Met some great new young dudes. I know I have written about this before but it never gets boring to me. I took a trip to New York City.
First I went to Active Rain Camp. Ben Kinney, Bob Stewart and Brad Andersohn were there. Gave a wonderful demonstration on the long tail and the short tail of blogging. They explained how people searched the internet . How to get the attention of people who searched. Ben Kinney became a very special person to me that day and so did Bob Stewart. This was not the first time the two young men told me this tale nor would it be the last.
They told me this tale again in Philadelphia and again in Active Rain University. Market Reports and local information were told to me over and over. I was like sponge soaking in all this information.
That week I also went to Inman Connect NYC where I met other bloggers. Other thinkers from all over the country. Learned about the future of Video blogging. Twitter is big and everyone should have an IPhone - get rid of your blackberry. Who do you really represent?
I went home my head full of ideas. I started blogging. For many years, I have done my market reports. I have refined them. Every month doing local market reports. Using the long tail.
What is the Long tail you may ask ? Well, let us explain what the short tail is first. The short tail, for example, would be
- Condo's in Philadelphia Pa
- Delaire Landing Condos in Philadelphia Pa
Let's get into the long tail example now:
- Delaire Landing Gated Waterfront Community Philadelphia Pa
Can you see by adding the specific words "Gated Waterfront" you have narrowed down the search to a certain group of people who are looking for special type of condo?
I have used this approach for many years and it has worked for me. What I have neglected to use was a follow up mailing with this approach. The AR person who has helped me with this is our own Barbara Todaro.
So this is what my goal is for the up coming year: a Free Market Analysis card with every market report I write. You see, I have plenty of buyers right now and I need sellers.
I believe these cards will work. They had worked in the past and I am sure they will work in the future.
