How To Succeed On Pinterest For Real Estate
Pinterest is one of the best social media networks for real estate agents who are using it correctly. Pinterest is responsible for driving the most traffic to my real estate website. It outperforms Google+, Twitter, & Facebook even when they're combined!
Now you may be asking, why would being on Pinterest have an impact on the amount of exposure a sellers home receives? One thing that can impact the SERPs (Search Engine Result Placements) is the number of social shares a website is receiving. Pinterest provides the best opportunity, hands down, for a piece of content/graphic to be shared all over the place.
If you're writing top quality content and creating eye-catching graphics, there is a good chance your graphics will get shared like crazy on Pinterest. Some of the best graphics from Rochester's Real Estate Blog have been shared thousands of times, which all helps the social signals a website sends to the search engines.
So, what are the best Pinterest tips for real estate agents? Below you'll find a couple of the most important tips for using Pinterest in real estate.
Write Epic Content
Before you can start making an impact with creative and eye-catching graphics on Pinterest, you must first ensure you're creating epic content. You maybe asking yourself what epic content is in real estate? It's pretty simple, it's a piece of content that people in general will find helpful and will want to share with others.
Epic content is not a quick 300 word write up about your latest and greatest sale. A piece of epic content is something that will WOW a reader. Since there are often many questions that are asked by prospective home sellers (and buyers) an example of epic content would be answering some of the
frequently asked questions about selling a home.
Providing quality answers to common home selling questions such as, when is the best time to sell my home or what should I disclose to buyers, is an example of creating epic content. Once you have epic content, you're ready to graduate to the next step to killing it with Pinterest in real estate.
Create Eye-Catching & Memorable Graphics
Now that you have your epic content written, it's time to create some awesome graphics. After writing a piece of epic content, you'll want to create at least 2-3 eye-catching and memorable graphics. These graphics should relate to the content you've written.
There are dozens of applications, websites, and software's you can use to create great graphics. I personally suggest heading over to Canva.com to check out their free design website. They allow you to create graphics of all different shapes and sizes. I typically will aim to create skinny and long graphics to accompany my content. There are several studies out there that indicate longer graphics get more shares.
It's very important that when you're creating your graphics that you're paying for stock images if necessary and aren't using images without the proper licensing. This is a great way to get yourself in trouble. There are some free websites available but the number of quality images isn't as high as when you pay for your stock images.
I always suggest that you include some type of personal branding on your real estate graphics. Even if the content is discussing a local event or things to do in your area, try to include either your URL, logo, or other personal touches. For example, an article discussing the
best Christmas light displays in Rochester NY even has a branded graphic that I've shared to my boards on Pinterest.
Join Group Boards
Once you've written your epic content and created your awesome graphics, you now need to know where to spread the word! One of the best ways to make a huge splash into Pinterest is to join real estate group boards.
There are many resources available where you can find out where the
best real estate social media groups are found. Joining Pinterest groups is a great way to expand your reach since Pinterest is one of the more difficult sites to grow a following. I've been
active on Pinterest for over 2 years and have about 2,400 followers. Since there is no magic potion to grow your own following, group boards allows your pins to be noticed by all the groups followers.
There are several real estate group boards on Pinterest that have 10,000+ followers! Remember, when you join real estate group boards, this is not a place to pin your awesome new listing. If you want to get booted from groups on any social media network, go ahead and start sharing your cool new listing.
