A Sand County Wildflower Experience.
A few weeks ago I took a day off from my frantic schedule to take in a bit of continuing education at the Leopold Center near Baraboo Wisconsin.
Though I feel like continuing education is a non stop thing in my life, this one caught my eye since it was a bit different then a lot of the Forestry training that I go to, more about the importance of communication with our clients than dealing with the science and business parts of Forestry.
I was also a little excited about the location of this training, next to the site of Aldo Leopolds shack, made famous by his classic “A Sand County Almanac”.
The training was top notch, the contacts made there were too.
And I was very pleased when I turned into the drive way and noticed a wealth of wildflowers throughout the property.
Normally I would have just thought that they were nice to look at and quickly walked on by, but not this time.
This time I was thinking about my friend Belinda, and her August challenge to share a few floral blooms from our area.
So I took this opportunity to make my entry in her challenge something special with special wild flowers from a famous naturalist’s special place.
Thanks for giving me a reason to take a few dozen photos to remember this day by Belinda.
