GOOD HABITS
Several years ago, I sat in a meeting, where the leader was requesting several of us to take on a number of tasks required to facilitate a successful event. I noticed there were a number of folks, who worked to find excuses for not performing the required work. At the time I realized folks often resist certain things, and expend more energy doing so than simply meeting the task head on, and getting it done. I vowed then to prioritize my time to performance rather than resistance.
I am also good at managing time. You will rarely find me late unless an asteroid has hit the freeway directly in front of my car.
BAD HABITS
It has been said that talking about politics or religion shouldn’t be part of a real estate professional‘s business plan. However, the current political environment and challenges have provoked me to weigh the importance of my business plan against the right of every American to Free Speech in a democracy. It has been difficult to remain silent. I probably have made more political comments than I should, but I’m working on making them less often. It’s the best I can do right now!
THE UGLY HABITS
I tend to attach sentimental significance to things others would likely dispose of easily. For example, the other morning, I came across the dress I graduated from high school in. Without saying exactly what year that was, I will mention The Beatles hadn’t been discovered yet.
I also have a transaction file that dates to my early years as a Realtor in the early 1980s. I held on to it because there were so many outrageous twists and turns to that sale. However, it all turned out well, and the referrals from those past clients continued on for many years.
I am working on this habit, and little by little, it is finding remedy!
