Thankful Tuesday
I am also Thankful...this is a good day.
Thank you so much for all the texts, call and Facebook messages. As the news has stated this was an epic disaster. I have never seen so much devastion in my life. I am so grateful that all of our family came through this unharmed. We evacuated due to the uncertainity of the Barker Reservoirs being released as we live upstream. As many of you know my father has to get dialysis. It was very challenging to get him to a center on Monday. Tuesday we had the chance to evacuate and we took it. I am very proud of my two boys they have volunteered. My youngest volunteered at shelter's and yesterday he flew to Austin ( he is a pilot) a picked up supplies to bring back and my oldest volunteered at the George Brown convention center. My oldest son and his friend drove around and found a family needing help to muck their home. They lost everything as many did, he returned yesterday and I donated a HEB gift card for food and the man cried. We will be checking on this family and helping them as we can.
The support that Houston has received from fellow Texans, the country and the world is over whelming. Maybe we can take this example and realize there is so much good in this world.
Thanks again for your support and please donate or help in whatever way you can this will be a long healing process but we are HOUSTON STRONG!
The top picture is helicopters down the street from my home looking for people, and the 2nd one was taken by my oldest son as the rain finally stopped!
