The challenge has come from Debbie Reynolds for us to air out our laundry, the good, bad, and ugly! Honestly, we all have habits and many of those habits need to be eliminated. It is not always easy to share but here are mine.
I have always been organized and focused. This comes from my being a very high "D" for those of your who follow DISC the assessment. That means when I say yes to a project there is no way I will let anyone down. I usually work quickly and try to finish before schedule. I am persistent and don't quit.
This may sound strange for a business coach but because of my very high "D" I tend to be demanding. Yes I have learned over's te the years to dial it back. When I was a young 20 something manager. Sometimes when you are too demanding and follow every policy to the nth degree you win the battle but lose the war if you know what I mean. Even sometimes now when I see something I want to jump on it rather than further evaluating. That is my results orientation behavior and it is not necessarily all bad.
In my case I would have the ugly as something in my younger years. I would say I always loved cars and speed. I passed my drivers test on 3 weeks after I was 16. I really was under the control of my parents and their car until I bought my own just before graduating from high school. Then I seemed to get a few speeding tickets so many that I had to get my own insurance. A very scary thing happen when I was working and living in Long Island. I dozed off and hit the side of a sign which woke me instantly and scaped the side of my car. That is all in the past and I have not gotten a ticket for years. I grew up.
So anyway I try to leverage my good habit and minimize the bad one. The ugly is gone.
