Why Ride?

I was looking at the different groups earlier and saw that there is a dog lovers group.
Having two Siberian Huskies.
But what about my true passion?  Riding.  Yes, I ride.  Always have.
Yes, I am known in plenty of circles as "Motorcycle Mike"

It started back in 1977 when I bought a 1976 Honda 550 Supersport from a friend.
I kept it at a buddy's house down the streets house.
I'd set off every morning to "walk" to school.
You know how that story came out.

29 years later there is still nothing better than swinging a leg over a bike and  heading out for a ride.

I have a slightly larger bike now, a 2004 Suzuki Hayabusa, but the genuine grin factor is always there.

I've roadraced (back in the 80's) I've gone desert racing, B to V, and now I like to just go out and ride.

I'm an Ironbutt kind of rider, and the next bike I get may either be a BMW R1200GS Adventure or the KTM 990 Adventure.

I am a regular and strong supporter of www.Pashnit.com and have invited Tim to the rain as well.

Enough about me - what do you ride and why?

Hi Mike...

a fellow rider! We have a couple Fans at the office and I keep trying to get them together....as the Realtor Road Warrior....or something like that....but we haven't quite figured out how to show homes to our Buyers while riding....working on it tho...

As far as riding - why? Because I fell in love with it after my husband bought his latest bike. (I was the one 'nagging' - let's go for a ride, let's go, let's go now....) What do I love and pamper? A 2003 Harley Softtail Heritage. I saw it in the store and immediatly knew that this was MY bike...took it home 4 days later... :-)

Heck...maybe we can have a national "Active Rain Rides - Event"...

Absolutely great idea!

Last year we almost got a Realtor ride together in the local marketing group.

We we're going to do it on a weekday.

I'll try to get that off the ground again this year.

I have some clients that ride also--and we ride weather permitting from listing to listing--what a great way to show houses!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had always been on the back and got tired of waiting for someone to take me--I sat on my "05" 883L and he hugged my butt just right--bought him and I had never ridden before--got my license last year and put over 4000 miles on even though I had to have surgery and couldn't ride for 2 mths

Only a biker knows why a dog sticks it's head out the car window!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello fellow rider,

I ride a 2001 Kawasaki Ninja Zx12R and I love her. I got her about 2 years ago as a first bike and have not stopped riding ever sense.

Like Peggy said... "Only a biker knows why a dog sticks it's head out the car window!!!!!!!!!!!!" That is so true and it a feeling that can only be explained by a rider or a dog of course, oh wait... Dogs can't talk... Or can they??

On another note Mr. Ironbutt, Wanna run em?? I am positive that my 12 can take that Busa of yours as long as you have no bolt on's or bottles on that beast. Let me know. ;)

Mike, I ride a 2003 Harley 100 year anniversary Duece. I placed a post and picture here in this group today. I've been on motorcycles since I was 12 years old. I raced motorcross in the early eighties. Sold motorcycles in the late eighties, and now I just ride when ever I can. Thanks for starting this group I just came upon it yesterday.

Good Day!! have a cup of java and a smile on me :)

Great stories Mike,

Soon as I figure out how to do it, I'll post a pic of my Fire Fighter Ultra Classic. Just discovered this group this morning. I'll be back!

Asked how long I have been riding I usually respond indicating that I have had my motorcycle license for 38 years but I was married for 23 for I have been riding for 15 years.  Lucky for me my second wife is also an avid rider (2 up).

Reflecting back I am sorry it took 23 years to get back on the bike.
