IRS examiners will insist on obtaining the electronic back-up so they can review the Quickbooks Audit trail and hone-in on items that may give them insight as to what the taxpayer was up to or what issues may exists in the taxpayer's records. I review the issues and those moves the practitioner should always do before handing over the file to prepare for what is coming next.
