Nine Eleven Sixteen Years later: a day we swore never to forget...

Good Morning Endre - So many people were touched in some way.  I have many stories living here in NY and wondering about people and then the commutter lots at the train station with cars still there.

Hi Endre. I have NO idea how I missed this post on 9/11.

I completely agree with you and your points and have to say when Pence spoke, it brought tears to my eyes. So many of us have someone who was devastatingly impacted by the attack and to think that this much raw emotion is still within us (and we weren't even there) makes me feel so much compassion for those who were or lost loved ones there. It's heartwrenching every time I think about it.

We visited the 9/11 Memorial when we were in New York in April, 2016 the reality of it was asolutely overwhelming to me. 

Like you, I remember exactly where I was, what chair I was sitting in, what program was on the TV when I watched it happen and who I was talking to before all of our world changed. 

It was so incredibly emotional, Endre. I had no idea standing there would be so overwhelming and I can see how going back would be something that would be unbelievably difficult for you.

Endre - likewise, I'll never forget.  I had just returned from celebrating my birthday.  I returned to Arizona and 3 of my girlfriends returned to Alabama, where i used to live.  We have pictures of the twin towers.  I landed 9/1/01.  Watching in horror as that took place. I stood and was glued, dumbstruck.  Everyone has a memory, but i'm thankful I didn't know anyone who perished, like you all had experienced.  Thank you for sharing your memories. 

It has been 16 years but in so many ways seems like it happened a few days ago. The memories are fresh.

Hi Endre, I still remember the total solitude I felt that entire week.  Everyone in my immediate family was away from easy contact by cell phone.

Good for you for giving her a party.  I can appreciate that her birthday is a day after 9/11.  Must have felt like a waste to have a birthday - at least to celebrate it.  

I finally got to view Pence's 9/11 speech. It was very moving. Since this Administration took over, I've been very impressed with all of the Vice President's speeches and his involvement with the American people including International Officials too.
