Being attentive, attuned and knowing your real estate portfolio in your state and the wants/needs of your luxury buyers will set you apart as a real estate agent. Receiving referrals from out of state agents who evaluate you against a bevy of other agents is always in the mix...so prepare, help and show what you can do to that agent for your clients.
Recently I had the opportunity to have my luxury home buyerss in RI fly in from their International home to spend 3 days to find and lock down the vacation home they wanted in the U.S. As we know as real estate agents where a buyer wants to be or the price point may be very different than what they end up buying. So broadening the scope of the target real estate is so important. On top of that is that an interpreter may be needed, as it was in this case, so be prepared to have one on hand for your clients.
Looking at many homes on the oceanfront or with waterviews was the goal with this client. Having little to go on with client likes in the home buy except a minimum of bedrooms and baths, you need to be on your game in finding what may pique their interest in homes. There was no question when we looked at the final two homes the second day which was the one to buy. The sellers understood if they wanted this sale to go through and be locked and loaded they had to move fast too. The other real estate agent was experienced, thoughtful and conveyed the importance of timing to get this sale signed with the sellers too. Synergy and knowledge on both sides of a transaction is key.
The agreed price was arrived at on the third day and signed by all parties and my International buyers were ecstatic in my delivery. They said there would be no doubt that future business will come my way via their recommendations. What else can a RI real estate agent ask for?! Very satisfied clients is the ultimate goal again and again.
So do your homework now for future clients that may come your way and always be prepared.
