So... the new iphones have been announced. I've heard of at least one Rainer who is already in line to get a new X.
I am an Apple Consumer... I've been using Apple products (computer, scanners, printers and eventually cell phones) since 1984, when I was just a toddler.
The announcement of the new iphones ... iphone 8's, and the iphone X (pronounced "ten"... not "ex") has come with great fanfare... it was on the local and network news last night and there's lots of excitement surrounding the new phones and the upgrades and features.
Futuristic stuff like face recognition (makes fingerprint ID sound antiquated, doesn't it?) wireless charging, and mundane things like better camera, longer battery life, larger edge-to-edge screen.
Some of the features are nice, but for the price, not sure I need to run out and buy the new phones.
But my amazement is not with the new phones... my amazement is with the vitriol I'm seeing aimed at Apple. Social media consumers who are angry with Apple... yelling about the dummies who've lined up to spend a ton of money on their products, and calling names and hurling epithets at the Appleratti.
This is something I don't understand. As I mentioned... I'm an Apple user from way back. I love my Apple products. I spend a lot more on my desktop and laptop because it's a Mac, and functions differently than my colleague's PC's. I like the way they work, I like the way they operate, and yes, I'm willing to pay more for their cutting edge technologies and everything that comes with them.
If you don't like Apple, or don't like what they're charging... or anything else about them... even under Donald Trump, this is still a free country. Don't buy them. Nobody is forcing you to purchase their "overpriced" hardware.
But if I choose to purchase them, that doesn't make me an idiot, nor a sheep. I love me my Apple products... and "no"... they're not paying me to say so.
