As of this morning there were 61 recorded deaths resulting from Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean and the U. S.
Some of the Caribbean islands were spared devastation from Hurricane Irma. Among these that were spared are: Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, Curacao, Grand Cayman, Grenada, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, Trinidad, Tobago and The Grenadines.
The cruise ports in Mexico and Central America were not affected by Irma.
The U. S. Virgin Islands of Saint Thomas and Saint John were hit very hard. Saint Croix did not suffer significant damage.
Most of these islands depend heavily on tourism for revenue so the sooner they can get power on so that they can rebuild hotels, resorts and restaurants, the better.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who were affected by this killer storm.
