Maui banks and mortgages. When it comes to buying a home in Hawaii, we strongly urge you to use a local bank or lender, since some mainland lenders won't fund to Hawaii. It's an awful feeling to find this out at the last minute, when you're all set to close on a house sale and things go off track due to the lender. We have good solid banks here, and they can help you get a mortgage to buy a home on Maui. There are also other lenders ready to help, and I'm happy to give you some names if you need them.
Search the Maui MLS for bank owned homes here.
Here's the breakdown of how many mortgages the local banks are providing across the state. Statistics are courtesy of Title Guaranty.
