Can You See Me Now?

By
Real Estate Agent with GreatWest Realty DRE# 00827565

This has been a banner year for my vegetable garden.  There have been far more tomatoes, squash, grapes and herbs than I could possibly use.  My family and neighbors have helped me consume most of them.  This morning while performing the daily ritual of harvesting what has grown, I found this little guy blending into the scenery.  Can you see him now?

One of the wonderful benefits of owning a home is having the ability to grow some of your own food, even if a winged marauder comes to molest the leaves!

Hi Myrl - Either those are tiny leaves or that's a humongous dragonfly. Great photo!

WOW! I love dragonflies and your photo shows with clarity all its details from it's body through its wings. They are so amazing creatures! Congratulations on achieving an abundance of home grown vegetables. With the prices they charge in the grocery stores and Farmer's Market this is a great accomplishment!

It is a real joy having fresh produce right in the backyard. I think mine will last 2-3 weeks at the very most.

Dragonflies don't eat vegetables, Myrl. They are carnivorous and consume bugs, especially mosquitoes, so they are GOOD to have you in your vegetable garden. Although, I have to say, at first glance, I thought you had a plastic one as a decoration. I didn't realize it was real!! LOL. I haven't seen any dragonflies in our gardens in Land Park. Drats.

Little helicopters buzzing around summer gardens - although this is a pretty big one. We also had a great harvest from our garden this year. We didn't see a dragonfly this close up and personal though. What a nice shot.
