Ever really broke everything down and figured out your “Why”?
I had a chance to watch Tony Robbins a few years back and one of the
most memorable points he made, which is still fresh in my mind was:
What’s your why?...Why do you do, what you do?
He explained that he wasn’t there to “motivate” us, instead he wanted to help us answer the question: “Why do we do what we do”
No, not just the money…not just the recognition…not “helping people”
The REAL reason that helps us rationalize the long hours, time away from our family and the difficult situations we have to navigate in our businesses.
It made such an impact on me that I had to take a week to define what truly drives me!
Maybe for you it’s having the means to pay for the RIDICULOUSLY
expensive college your kids are hell bent on attending.
Or maybe it’s building a legacy for them to follow in your footsteps…
Maybe it’s being able to retire in a few years and not having to worry about your finances (that’d be nice:=)
Whatever your “Why”, you need to figure it out because it’s the ONE thing that will motivate you to action.
That being said…
Why is CRUCIAL, but I starting thinking about “What” and “How”
“WHAT” do you need to succeed? And “HOW” the heck do you do it?!
In real estate it comes down to a couple simple What’s and How’s
WHAT….What brings in $$$?…buyers and sellers (for the most part)
HOW…How do you find more of them (good question)
My “HOW” is simple, so simple you’re most likely doing a few of them now but without consistency!
The key is knowing what to do, when to do it, and then do it again and again and again and again.
I was fortunate enough to have learned the “How” years ago,
which has resulted in over 3500+ successful transactions throughout my 23+ career.
My “HOW” hasn’t changed…but my “WHY” has a bit…
Today my “Why” includes giving back and helping others succeed.
It’s actually my drug of choice and I’m ready for my next fix!
