Make time for yourself! or Burnout...

You need to schedule time for yourself.

As a Realtor people expect you to be at their beck and call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Write down on your calendar 1 or 2 days off a week.

If someone says I would like to make an appointment on Tuesday and that is your day off, you say,

"I am sorry, I am totally booked on Tuesday, How is Wednesday or Friday."

They might say oh, couldn't you cancel someone and take me instead.

Your answer:

"I would never do that to you, I would hope that you wouln't ask me to do it to someone else."

You won't get every listing you may not make every sale, but you will quickly burnout in this business if you don't take care of yourself.

All the best!

Kevin this is so true and important and because my time could be better spent I am learning to hire and deligate as well. I find other minor tasks slipping because I dont have enough time.

I agree that we need time for ourselves and our families. That's extremely important. But if I can't help someone at the time they want, and I can't reschedule, then I refer them to one of my coworkers. Otherwise, they might just call someone else.  =/   (Unless it's one of my loyal repeat customers or family members. Then I can just be honest with them and I know they'll understand.)

Kevin;, So true, I do try to take time off, I never miss my grandson's ballgames. But sometime I have to juggle my appointments.
