Did the Buyer really eat the old Owner's Birthday gift?
Over the weekend I received a text from one of my recently closed sellers. They explained that they had a family member mail a birthday gift to their old address by mistake. They asked if I could contact the selling agent to see if the buyer, new owner, had received the package. After about a day, I received the contact info for the buyer from the agent and then forwarded to my client.
The next day I was dumbfounded to find out that when they contacted the new owner, they informed him that they did indeed receive the package. He went on to tell me that they also not only opened the package but ate the birthday cookies that were inside! Yes, you read that right.
Needless to say, my client was not too happy about this development. I'm still in shock myself. I mean, really?! It's one thing to accidentally open a package that you receive that is not addressed to you but to then proceed to also eat the contents of the package. So, did the buyer really intentionally eat the former owner's birthday gift? File this one under "What in the World?!"
