Horsey Wordless Wednesday - Making A New Friend

Horsey Wordless Wednesday - Making A New Friend

My granddaughter comes up to the barn with me whenever she comes to visit.  While I work on getting my chores done, she will go to each of the horses and visit with them.  Now, she does start out willingly helping me with the chores, but like any child, especially her age, she has a short attention span, except when it comes to horses.  She can spend hours at a time with the horses and not be bored.  Here, she is tending to one of our senior horses.  It looks like they are having an interesting conversation.

What a peaceful photograph of two souls meeting. The horse seems so patient waiting for that treat that she may be hiding...a carrot? Apple?

Good morning Brigita - that is a great picture.  Your granddaughter is fascinated.  I am sure she is riding.

I am not a horse person but this looks like real communication to me.

Good morning, Sandy & Norm!

This horse is a well-behaved horse.  Being that he is a senior in years, he has learned his lessons well.  I am curious to know what treat my granddaughter has for him.

Good morning, Grant!

My granddaughter is taking riding lessons and looks forward to them.  She looks forward to doing anything horsey.  (She takes after her grandmother.)

Good morning, Joe!

She is definitely communicating with this horse.  Curious to know what they are saying to each other.

There is something about the relationship between horses and little girls that is very special.  I remember feeling it when I was about her age.

Good morning, Ron & Alexandra!

Horses have a sixth sense that humans have lost over the decades.  They can sense what another being is feeling and what they are like.  I think these two are on the same page.

Super cute photo! I loved taking my grand daughter to the barn to do chores with me back when she was younger. Enjoy that time while you can. They grow up quick!

Brigita~this one popped up as something of interest for me to look at for my Pinterest boards! How wonderful that it was someone I know. I'm definitely going to "save" it. So very thought-provoking. It could be quite inspirational about facing your fears. OR never having them.

Hi, Gayle!

So true.  We can all learn some lessons from animals and children.
