An Afternoon in the Life of Selling Homes in Elk Grove

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

It always astonishes me when I answer my phone and on the other end is a snarly real estate agent yelling about something. We don't all come from the same cut of cloth. Some people are just loose cannons and operate that way without regard. I don't know why it surprises me when it happens. Perhaps because my sensitive ears are not used to that sort of behavior and it is startling.

Also, I was at the vet getting a second opinion on the necessity of surgery for my cat, which was in the middle of selling homes in Elk Grove that afternoon. It was inconvenient to take Tessa back home, so I just took her along with me. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: The Ups and Downs of Selling Elk Grove Homes.

Wow, my kitties would be unhappy going on showings with me!

Elizabeth, the most challenging thing for me in real estate is dealing with the people ... put me in a room of animals and I've got no issues.

I certainly hope that Tessa gets better soon!  Our pets are part of our family.  We spend what it takes to keep them in good health, because we know in our hearts we have no choice.

Hi Elizabeth - I think I may have had this discussion with Kathleen Daniels -- people can be the biggest issue in our business -- it's typically not the people we choose to work with but those that we sometimes encounter in a transaction who get in the way.

On the second thought, maybe we didn't talk about that...but discussed the merits of cherry pie.

Kristin Johnston - REALTOR® Ha, ha, ha, I didn't take Tessa on a showing. I just stopped at a home near Elk Grove to remove a lockbox because the sale had closed.

Myrl Jeffcoat She is resting now. She is on pain meds 3 X a day for a bit. So she is conked out on the family room floor. I put a small doughtnut on her, and she tore it off intact. Then I put the cone of shame back on her, and that was on the floor of the bedroom, intact. Today I bought her an extra small doughtnut, and she had that off within 5 minutes. I'm making her a body suit out of a shirt sleeve and we'll see how that goes. Can't risk her licking the stitches.

Michael Jacobs I know what you mean. We just canceled a transaction today that my gut told me from the inception was doomed. I just knew the other side could not hold it together, all the telltale signs were present but not enough to reject their offer, and I hate it when I'm right.
