Loop
Housing Type: Condo
Most of the Loop is enjoying the balanced market we have been watching take form. Most homes are taking just under two months to sell. This is a great position for both buyers and sellers as buyers have a few choices making them more confident to make an offer on the home they love. The median sales price for condos was $330,000.

Loop
Housing Type: Townhome
An extremely rare townhome has come to the market in Dearborn Park. The development of white townhomes just south of Printer's Row was built in 1983 at the beginning of the Dearborn Park project, which could be considered the cornerstone of the South Loop neighborhood. Within these homes is a one-of-a-kind property that consists of 5 townhouses that have all been connected. The project resulted in a 4b/4.3ba, 7,5000sf home with skylights and an elevator. There is nothing else like it in downtown Chicago. The home is listed for $2.3m, but can be parcelled into a 3-townhome unit and a 2-townhome unit. The median sales price for townhomes in the Loop was $548,500.

*In this blog series we focus on one of twenty neighborhoods in Chicago, each day, and provide charts to give you a brief update on the activity that neighborhood has seen over the past month in a variety of price ranges for Single Family Homes, Townhouses, and Condos, as available.
When looking at these charts please keep in mind that not every housing type is available in every neighborhood (the Loop doesn't have houses) and some homes compete within even smaller subsections than these, meaning we can dig even further in this data. Please let me know if you would like a personal assessment of your target market.
