We decided to take a quick morning excursion to Chanticleer Gardens in Radnor. It is a short drive from our home in Tredyffrin Township and always a delight to enjoy. These gardens are very natural, acorns sit in the beds, flowers droop as they age, it is not like Longwood where everything is pristine all the time, this is a real garden like ours.
Every time we go we feel inspired and encouraged. We get ideas and feel we can do this or that we have seen.
Here is a view of the main house from the bottom of the garden...
This is a great idea, using large stone to create a settee and chairs, more comfortable than you would think. But you will need some serious help to build these.
There are ideas all around for shade gardens, rock gardens, follies, vegetable plots, sunny areas, water gardens, meadows, woodland, you name it they have an example. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did after all the humidity it was a delight to wander round in the cool.
Sometimes you just want to get away and enjoy a few minutes of peace and calm, my phone doesn't work in the gardens so I can be in the moment and enjoy the time wandering around.
We have lots of gardens and places to enjoy nature around us in Tredyffrin Easttown. If you need some suggestions, or have some of your own let us know we would love to hear from you in the comments below.
