Three Little Piggies went to the market....AND

By
Real Estate Agent

Once a Ponce a Time (as my 3 year old daughter used to start her stories)........There were Three Little Piggies.............Lets see if WE can figure out the moral of THIS story...:-)

I love the story of The Three Little Pigs:-)  For those of you that haven't heard the story, or heard it in a while, here it is in a nutshell.  Three pigs each built their house out of three different materials. Each to his own thought that they were doing a great job, yet two of the three materials couldn't withstand the huffing and puffing of the Big Bad Wolf.

One pig built his house out of straw, Ok, so maybe the house didn't look quite like this......

Another out of sticks,

( When you're only using thin and inexpensive sticks of wood as your main building materials, it's easy to see how a little piggy coud get carried away .....)

And the last out of bricks. ...

The big bad wolf                            came and tried to blow down every single one of the pigs homes.  The wolf was successful at blowing down the houses of the straw and sticks,

Yet no matter how hard he tried, was unsuccessful with the pig that built his house out of brick.

This pig was very wise and had some important instruction that the other pig's chose to ignore and because they chose to ignore, their house had fallen.

Any of  you see a correlation between this story and the Real Estate Market.....Home Buyers..Home Builders, Mortgage Brokers, Homes Stagers and.......Realtors???

And the MORAL of the Story IS............................?

...The little pig who built his house from brick  sold it because he priced it right.

...The little pig who built his house from sticks, overpriced it with a low commission, so he still lives there.

...The little pig who built his house of straw had the house staged, got more money than the appraiser thought was possible in a shorter period of time.

...and the piggy with the brick house told his brother's, "see ...because my home was made of brick my homeowners insurance underwriter is thrilled because he doesn't have to cough up any money for repairs and the neighborhood also won't suffer from blight and diminishing property values because there's no unsightly external obsolescence or garbage diminishing the landscape like your homes have done to your neighbors, and your still responsible for your paying your house notes in spite of what the wolf did to ruin you. Now you either have to come up with the money for the repairs or sell your piglets for bacon to Farmer Bob to raise some cash. Remember, bacon comes from my belly, back and side, but the big bad wolf can't take it from my hide when I'm safe inside."
