Tom, on the right, greets James for the first time since the violence in Las Vegas. After being shot, Tom was bleeding seriously.

When passing by Tom, a person he didn't know, James Lawson noticed that the impromptu tourniquet on Tom's leg was not applied properly. Using his training from his 10 years in the US Army reserves, James knew what he had to do for Tom.

Rather than restate the encounter here, you may watch it for yourself.

Thank you for posting this Lynn... the silver lining we can find from this tragic event is the way so many people stood up and helped other people, even shielded them from bullets, carried them away to safety , came back and sat with them as they died... it is unbelievable the inner strength of ordinary people who helped other people thereby becoming Extraordinary Heroes

Lynn, this was truly another sad event in our country. Such a shame and I don't understand how someone could do this horrific act.  I pray for all the people  killed and the shooter as well. My heart aches for what is happening in America!!
