Have you ever blown dandelions? As a kid, this was a game of endless fascination...watching those little puffs of white seed float away ever so effortlessly with the slightest whistle of one's breath.
I remember being surprised when an adult told us that those little powder clouds were chock full of seeds which would land miles away, depending on where the wind took them and flourish and grow more seeds weeds.
Sometimes, I'd blow on those seeds and try to follow their path, but I never could. They seemed to vanish like a wisp of smoke. Seeds landing in places which I would never see, but which had been propelled in some small fashion by the gentlest expression of my breath.
This picture captures my thoughts about the many special individuals who have assisted my journey on Active Rain. In a sense they are like the wind...I did not know them personally, yet their notes of encouragement, good humor and insight have inspired and guided my quest to become a better communicator.
With a gentle burst of wisdom and inspired genius, these individuals blew their gifts of seed into my life and so many others. And...like the enigma of a network that allowed our paths to cross, many have moved on to other avenues of endeavor. Today they have taken up roots in other places.
However, their most significant contribution to me remains their willingness to give just a little bit. Who knows whether there were days when a comment to my blog was their last one after an exhausted day of working and moderating? Perhaps, they had spent the day, cleaning out a vacated apartment building...or worked diligently to get a difficult loan approved.
I'll never know the details which informed their visits to my my fledgling blog, but I'll always remain grateful for those Wind kissed Wisps of encouragement that floated into my life through their intermittent comments. And...I'll try my best to continue to blow those dandelion whispers of encouragement to others who come across my path. What propels my promise...the wonder of the fact that you never know exactly where they'll land!
So this is my note of Thanks to Three special individuals who have impacted my development as a blogger.
