Approximately 60 miles east of Sacramento, Sly Park Recreation area exists. During most months of the year it is enjoyed by visitors from the Greater Sacramento region and other places as well.
Yesterday, I rode past here on my way with other family members who wished to do a little fishing on lakes along highway 88. We paused a few moments to take in the view and to snap a couple pictures. I immediately thought of the Dick Greenberg Contest, and the category of Travel/Places.
Sly Park Recreation Area is an EID (El Dorado Irrigation District) asset, which has among its jewels, lakes, campsites, hiking trails, boating, fishing, picnic facilities, available to the public.
