Take the Pledge to Reduce Bottled Water Waste!

Americans send about 38 billion water bottles a year to landfills. Considering the 1.5 million barrels of oil needed to make those bottles, the environmental impact of plastic bottle waste is truly staggering.

That's why Brita and Nalgene have teamed up to create the FilterForGood pledge. It's a simple commitment to reduce your personal waste by giving up bottled water, even if it's just a few days each week. Together, filtered water and a reusable bottle are an ideal solution for going green at home and on the go. It's an easy change that can make a big difference.

I got a free water bottle when I purchased by brita filters at the grocery store last night and I've already started using it today.  Its good for the environment and saves you money.  Take the pledge!

Filter For Good: Pledge to reduce bottled water waste.

Great job on water awareness. I am trying to filter my own but the town water still tastes like chlorine after filtering.

Great idea. We forget that the small things we do everyday will have an impact on the future. I know we use too many water bottles in our house.

Great post!! It easy to over look some of the simple things in life. We only use bottle water for car trips. At home everyone drinks out of filter water. Save Plastic Save Planet

I've been having fun trying to reduce the amount of trash I create. Those plastic bottles fill up a trash bag fast!  I feel so very green when I place a tiny bag at the curb for pickup!

Please note all of the health risks that come with the plastic bottles, don't leave them in the car don't let them get warm as they are releasing all kind of chemicals that have been linked to many things cancer included.

Lisa, I agree. We have a filtering system under the kitchen sink which does the job. We do however have the bottled water for use in the car. After reading Sonja's comment above, I will have second thoughts.

Great Post!
