New to ActiveRain, You Should Read This
Here's a wonderful post with lots of good information to all new members of Active Rain from Debbie Reynolds . And, also useful for many of us veterans as well:
New to ActiveRain, This is for YOU.
Though it wasn't a few days ago and it has been a few years, I do remember being new to ActiveRain. I happened upon this site up because someone told me that I should blog and suggested ActiveRain as a good place to start. That person said to grow my business and be found on Google I had to be blogging.
So that very day, I searched it out, found it and signed up. I paid for a full year of service. I filled out my profile and wrote my first post. Whew! I was blogging and thought my job was done. I logged off, expected results and did not return for 3 months.
Three months passed and one day I wondered why I wasn't getting business from my blog. I felt like my profile would be enough to bring in new business. I could track no calls or contacts to ActiveRain. I decided to see what I had missed and logged back on. I spent quite a bit of time reading and getting familiar with the site.I learned there were training webinars and that the posts written by others were very good. I was learning things about a variety of topics. I noticed that people were posting comments on the blog posts and they seemed to know one another.
The pieces started coming together and I decided I needed more blog posts to get the kickstart I needed for my business. I made a comments and people commented on my posts. It was like a conversation. I could tell that over time, friendships might start and maybe those I commented with could send me business.
Getting involved in routine blogging takes time and consistency. The friendships come along the way, knowledge increased. Bottom line is you have to be involved. That is why this post is for you.
Jump in and participate in ActiveRain. You may be thinking nobody will want to read what you write, but I assure you they will read. They will also comment and you need to do the same. It does take an invest of time which is an investment in your business. Are you ready to join in? I can tell you that you will be rewarded.
