My Stone Pig

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Referral Group Incorporated

I have various garden statuary. About 30 years ago I found a really cute little pig at a garden shop in New Jersey that no longer exists. When I moved to Massachusetts, I brought it with me and eventually found just the right spot for it in my yard. Yesterday when the lawn mower guys came a new replacement guy destroyed it. I found it this morning in pieces, that wouldn't fit and then in areas around the yard. I am really sad and pretty upset because no one even told me.

Anyone can make a mistake but adults stand up and acknowledge them. When I called this morning the woman who does the bookkeeping and is largely in the office didn't know either. She was responsive and I appreciated it, but the the stink still hurts. Remember to treat people with courtesy and respect and admit mistakes. It may not make it better but not doing so is just cruel.

When you think about real estate, it is time to focus. I have helped people for close to thirty years in all areas, and made the process not only simple but enjoyable. Why should you go it alone or settle for less? Call me and find a partner to help, direct and get you where you want to be.

That is a real bummer and I am thinking it might have messed up their lawnmower as well.  It also reminds me that I should check on the figurines that I have in my garden areas, as some of them are hidden by growth.

Hi Sheila- that is a shame especially since it had been with you for so long. And it makes it harder that no one owned up to it.

What a shame. Such a cute little piggy. I hope you are able to find another.

It would be nice if the landscaping company owner called and apologized.

Awww, and it was so cute!  I wonder if they just hoped you wouldn't notice or didn't want to get in trouble with the big boss.  Hopefully who ever it was will figure out that pretending something didn't happen really just doesn't work...

Sheila Anderson So sorry about your statue. There are art restoration companies that can do wonders. I've used one here in Seattle for several projects.

I understand how you feel. It's the principle. It's also the reason why I hate to call a contractor or have repairs by professionals. They always seem to manage to be careless, break things, and they don't fess up. During the summer I needed a whole new Air Conditioner and Compressor. They took my gate off or should I say, broke it off the hinges and left it that way. When I called the company, they said someone would be over to fix it. Oh, he fixed it alright - just long enough to look like it was fixed but as soon as I opened up the gate, the gate fell off.

Your little pig was so cute and obviously not replaceable. I'm sorry about your loss.

Hi Lauren. I don't think I have all the pieces and I don't know of any of these places around here. I paid $90.00 for this so many years ago and I have never seen a similiar one at any price. Just bummed. TY     Sheila

Our landscapers frequently break our sprinkler heads and one time they knocked over the grill. It was a mess and they left no note of apology or explanation. That was such a cute pig.

At least you have this picture to remember your cherished pig.  It does stink that no one told you that they had accidentally demolished it.
