Cherish but Use

This morning I wrote about a stone pig statue that a fill in mower guy destroyed yesterday. I had and loved it for over half my life. I am really sad about its destruction but happy I got to enjoy it for so many years. I don't save things for special times. All time is special and I have now decided to use my "good dishes" for plant saucers if I need them.

Some things are special and can't be replaced, like my little pig, but for the most part I don't own anything that is worth saving for a special occasion. It is a tough day today but tomorrow will be better and I will find something to make me smile.

 

I'm glad this bird enjoyed my little old bear on a small birdbath. Cherish but use.

Good evening Sheila Anderson ,

I'm so with you and believe "cherish but use!" I have one wine glass left from my 14 baccarat beautiful crystal set but I always hosted  Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners and loved to use them..over the years someone would break one and I never let it bother me..now the kids are hosting and much less formal..that's okay..still making memories and that's what's important.

 My family has had the tendency to hand things down until they got to the last surviving member of our family who was me until I had kids. So when we moved last month I had to go through about 1000 ft.² of hand me downs that I never got used; so we got rid of a lot of stuff Sheila Anderson

Sheila Anderson it is unfortunate when an incident like this occurs, but that is life and I sense that this statue is irreplaceable. All you can do is move on. I hope he offered to try to get it fixed?
