What is it you would really like to accomplish?
Isn’t life very fascinating? One of my favorite quotes is by Thomas Jefferson.
“If you want something you have never had, you will have to do something you have never done.”
A friend of mine, reminded me of this thought he had heard me quote in a Toastmaster meeting in past months.
And since he did, I printed it out and have it to where I can see it, several times a day.
Because each time I look at it now.
My brain is working to figure out just what it is that I really want.
Because I now recognize in the nearer future, I will have it.
Case in point, May 6th this year I came in 2nd place out of 4,500 Toastmasters in Arizona with my International Speech, titled:
PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION.
Last week, I took 1st place in the Navajo Division of Toastmasters in Arizona in the Humorous Speech Contest.
Now November 4th my goal is to acquire 1st Place in District 3 in the Humorous Speech Contest.
One big key for accomplishing something you have never had, is to watch carefully who you associate with 24/7 365.
The second key is to keep coming back to what it is you are working toward, when you become focused somewhere else.
The biggest problem is to become aware that you can, you really can.
Keep in mind most people you know will never accomplish what you are after.
Because they are not willing to do something they have never done.
Finally, remember: Everything will be all right in the end, if it is not all right, it is not the end.
