And Just Like That The Growing Season is DONE!

By

Sadly it was time to clean out the flower gardens and blow out the sprinklers until the warm days of Spring arrive again.

Colorado certainly does have it's 4 seasons!

With the freezing evening temperatures the past couple of weeks, all of the colorful blooms have turned brown.

I was cleaning out the flower pots in my front yard this week, and I noticed how sad my little garden buddy looked with his bare surroundings.

I'm sure he will be watching for the first signs of Spring and new life.

For now, he will be a lonely - cold dude.

Belinda,

And so it goes, there is a lot of beauty in the winter too.  I am looking forward to skiing.  A

What? You don't have a buddha in your garden, Belinda? I say you can never have too many buddhas around the house.

Belinda, Your sad garden gnome and Anna's offer makes me think of the comedy romance film Amelie. Where the daughter takes on the quest to distract her sad father with photos taken of his garden gnome around the world.  It is a French film, but well worth the watch. This snippette is in french, but if you were to get it full length it has English subtitles. Amelie

Fall is my favorite time of year, but winter is not something I look forward to!

I used to really enjoy the 4 full seasons back in New England but grew pretty weary of winter - I like the SoCal winter experience. No need to worry those fall and winter chores!

From November through March I often dream of moving back to Cali.  If it weren't for the traffic, crowds and home prices, I would be there in a flash!  Of course, having the ocean near by - you can put up with just about anything.

Hi Belinda - We've got a few lonely leaves hanging on here, and not much else left, but at least we got 4 trees and 5 bushes planted for an early start next year.

The growing season is over in many areas of the country . . . . and a time to harvest what we sowed.

Good luck and success.

It looked very hot when I watched the Broncos loose their butts to the Chargers yesterday.  That was 3 hours of my life I will never get back.

Oh dear. Perhaps you can spring for a coat and scarf for this lonely little gnome. And perhaps, get him a companion to visit it with whiling away the long winter months ahead.
