I Wasn't Thinking Dirty, Really!

Clean upWhen the City announced that they were going to rebuild the main traffic artery 1/2 a block from my house I imagined the nice new pavement void of massive pot holes and vaulted pavement... I wasn't thinking of the dirty mess we would have all summer long.

Add to that this Fall work began on replacing the grass surface of Corbett Field (a historic ball park) immediately across the street from my home with artificial turf. I had no idea what a huge and dirty job that was going to be.

This has all added up to a whole year of not being able to open the windows for a whole year, items being left outside for even one day being covered in dust/dirt, and many trips to the car wash. Not to mention some very interesting traffic detour just to get home or to work.

It will all be a wonderful blessing in the end (hopefully by the end of November) as we will have a beautiful new road close to our home and a dirt and dust free ball park across the street.

My hats off to the City of Minot ND for their forward thinking and taking care of these huge projects even though these are not the best economic times for our area.

It seems like most improvements are not real clean or dust free

Hi Bob... the good news is that you see the finish line in your sights. And that kind of construction mess is the reason I've paid extra when building two homes to be the last one done on my street.

The finish line keeps moving down the line Nina Hollander  but when ever it is it will be a glorious day.

It may Will Hamm as they have upgraded the infrastructure as well so all looks better above and below ground as well.

Construction always brings its challenges especially so close to home.  Glad it is almost over.

I never dreamed that either project would bring the amount of dust they did BUT this was a year of drought as well Belinda Spillman

I do Grant Schneider , in fact I have an electric one I really like and I have a gas powered one that runs when it feels like it (which is rarely).

Will do Myrl Jeffcoat . It's going to be nice to drive down that street and not worry if my car will break in two.

Hi Bob - I feel your pain. We moved this summer to a new subdivision, and never thought about how much dust new construction creates.

You do know my pain then Dick Greenberg . I am working with a developer and there is always something kicking up dust at his new subdivision.

Bob,

We hear you.  Our little city is doing work on the creek preservation that leads to the salt marsh preserves.  The noise alone is annoying.  A

Because of our short construction season here Ron and Alexandra Seigel they work from prior to sun up and well after sundown so we also get "light pollution" as well. Concrete doesn't pour well at  30 degrees below zero.

Bob it will be worth it when it's done. The city has had main water leaks on our street - right in front of our house and it's been torn up for a long time now. They were back today to do something so hopefully it's over with soon.

All the pain and sacrifice will be worth it, Bob. We have road construction going on all across town and traffic galore. In the end the traffic will flow so smoothly.

It will be really nice Debbie Reynolds as the road was extremely bumpy with many large pot holes as well.
