Simple steps to take to influence motivation in others.

1.  Understand Motivation by:

        a.  Determining What Motivates People  - by interviewing them.

        b.  Communicating the Value of Each Person - what are they good at

        c.  Setting Clear Expectations  - what is required of them

2.  Build a Motivating Environment by:

        a.  Building an Atmosphere of Trust  - go out to lunch and get to know them

        b.  Establishing a Positive Environment  - Lead by example

        c.  Using Motivational Techniques  - Verbal praise, and celebrating success

 3.  Invest in Long-term Results by:

        a.  Considering Incentives  - what about a reward ?

        b.  Addressing Underlying Issues  - constant, consistent feedback

HI LU,

Definitely communicating how valuable a person is is key.  I've learned that everyone wants to be needed, to feel special.  I try to treat everyone I come in contact with special.

Thanks for posting!
