The Hard Rock Theme park located in Myrtle Beach, SC has been placed in AOL's top 10 list of theme parks across the US to visit this year.  The article states this is the first theme park carrying the Hard Rock Brand Name and is also one of the first amusement parks of it's size to open in the US in over a decade.

With all of the National publicity Hard Rock is receiving, it should make its Grand Opening in June a huge success.

Jeremy, should be a fun place to go.  I was just at the Hard Rock Seminole Casino in Hollywood, Florida this past Sunday.

I had no idea that something like this was going to open, how cool!  I used to work for the HR Hotel here in Vegas!  Talk about a fun job!

That must have cost a pretty penny to be put on that list. We are located right beside the park and there is not that much traffic in and out. I do not see how it could be turning the numbers that they claim. With all of us who live and work over in this area, we hope we will not be staring at another empty parking lot in a few years. I hate to sound so negative, but sometimes you have to wonder what goes through peoples heads when making some of the decisions we see around here. Not unlike Myrtle Beach City Councel trying to stop the Bike Weeks. It doesn't matter how much money business owners will lose, the city claims it doesn't make enough money those weeks. Over 300,000 people visit the Grand Strand those weeks. That's a lot of potential home owners. How many people already live here or have purchased a second home or even investment property, that fell in love with the area after coming here on vacation. Just something to think about....

I visited the Hard Rock Theme Park and had a nice time although it was much smaller than I thought it would be.  Adding about 8 more rides would make it more worthwhile.  Was surprised that not many people were at the park when I visited.

A year ago, I almost bought a condo in Myrtle Beach and the sales rep was saying about how much business the park would bring in and how the condos would be booked solid - doesn't seem to be happening though as there were tons of vacancies when I inquired to rent one.

Hey Jeremy,  Where does it rank on the list of "Former" Theme Parks?    Looks like a liquidation sale.....

My son attends college right near there. Hard Rock is a  fun place but I don't think it as busy as they had hoped it would be.

Thanks,

Cindy
