As a professional Home Stager I tend to be a bit obsessed with image and perception.
I admit to being overly sensitive when it comes to appearance, on many levels, including my own self image. In my profession, that's not a bad thing. In real life it's not always a good thing.
I've made great progress as far as accepting myself for who I am. I am no longer the insecure, self conscious young girl I used to be. Key word being "young". LOL
With age comes great confidence!
With today's selfie-centered culture we are bombarded with social media selfies on a daily basis.
Personally, I'm not comfortable taking them and certainly haven't mastered the art of capturing the most flattering selfie, but I do post them on facebook now and then.
I prefer shooting a creative selfie.
For example:
shadows cast on an interesting background...on the ground, on rocks, in the water, or
me partially hidden in a shadow, or
me surrounded by family, or
shooting my reflection in a mirror or any other reflective surface.
Here is a selfie I took on our boat, last summer. It's my reflection in the sliding door.
It was a cool morning and the water was calm. It was such a beautiful day.
My husband was at work and couldn't be with me.
I sent the pic to him with a "wish you were here " message.

to be the candle
or the mirror that reflects it. "

Take a look in the mirror. "
