Overcoming Objections - Week 4: We are not ready to buy, just looking.
In an effort to get good feedback from experienced agents in our office and to help educate newbies on the selling process, an active participation training program has been established.
An over-sized pad and marker is set up, where agents can write down a solution they have used when meeting with home owners/buyers. This has been a fantastic exercise so far!
While many things drive fear, handling objections should be the least worry. For every reason a home owner/buyer may be resistant to hiring your services, there are two good reasons to move ahead.
Week #4 of five examines the "We are not ready to buy, just looking." Here are six responses to that objection:
1. I can understand that and I know you will keep looking until you find something that's just right, won't you? Well, that what my job is - to help you search out the the right house!
2. If I kept my eyes open and found the right home, when would you be able to move on it?
3. When you are ready to seriously start looking, could I be the first agent you call?
4. Would you allow me to set up a personalized email campaign to show what is available regarding your search criteria?
5. Have you talked to a lender yet to see what your buying power may be? Once you hire me and find that special home, I can write up the paperwork, protecting your interests. The agent on the for sale sign represents the seller.
6. I have access to every active listing in the MLS. There may be more homes that fit your needs and wants and you may not see them. I can get you in!
Staying to the professional side when overruling a home owner's/ buyer's objections may just get you hired. If you were in this situation, how would respond to this objection?
Happy sales all!
