What do Samhain (pronounced sah-win), Pomona - Roman goddess of Apples, Celtics, Druids, Witches, Wicca, Pagans, Christianity, Spirits, Guising have in common? They're all part of the history of Halloween...AND
It's tonight!! Halloween has arrived. The harvest is in and winter draws near and it is believed that the spirits of the dead roam freely on this night.
Have you ever wondered how it all began, celebrating Halloween, that is? If so, I found a short clip on the history of All Hallowed's Eve to share with you.
One year a group of kids came to the house when I opened the door they all said, in unison, "Trick Or Treat!" I said ok I want a trick. They didn't know what to do until the oldest in their party said:
"You want to see a trick"?
YUP, I do.
"Ok then, give me a candy bar and I'll show you how it disappears into my bag"!
NOW it was my turn to be speechless. After a good laugh, I handed out candy and gave the oldest 2 candy bars for being witty.
Have A Happy Halloween
