Okay, so here's the news that you all have been patiently waiting for - the announcement of which Teams have made the cut to compete in the upcoming 'Makeover2Takeover' Contest.

We had some great responses to this event, making the decision of narrowing the field to 16 teams a very challenging task. But we feel confident that these Teams represent the best selections based on the applications that were received.

Drum roll, please!..........

The first Team challenge will be announced shortly. Best of Luck to all the Teams!

UPDATE:  There was an oversight in our application review. One of the Team entries was misplaced during the selection process. Based upon the merits of their application, they would have easily made the cut. So, rather than drop one of the Teams, out of fairness, we are going to increase the field to 16 Teams. We have added them to our list.

Thanks for posting on Twitter Rich. Interesting that none of the big web marketing vendors are being represented. Here at the Tomato, we have been so swamped that we didn't even get a chance to submit an entry. I'm excited to see what the challenges will be like. keep us updated in twitter Rich!

Justin - actually, we weren't necessarily looking for the big web marketing vendors to jump in. We were hoping for Brokers/Seasoned/Successful agents to Mentor, and people who truly needed a makeover to be Apprentices. I think we achieved that, in spades!

Lenn - there were a couple that at first glance would give you that impression, but upon reading the applications made perfect sense. Perception is not always reality. I know, hard to believe, huh?

I am so pumped up about this event!!!!

Hey Deb, you got half of it right, Texas will be #1 along with LA!  You know my track record, do you have any idea how competitive I am ?  You and Melissa are two of my favorite ladies on the planet, however...there can only be one winner!  That would be the Coach Carter & Apprentice Josh, a TX/LA ticket.  Maybe Rich will let us have two winners, how about it Rich?  Oh maybe 3 winners, Elizabeth & Kimberly...no 4 winners, Caulk & Wood too, or and, oh dear, this is going to be harder than I thought at first, I want all my friends to win too!

Missy, so glad to see your name in the hat too...we will all learn and grow through this, and after all that's what AR is about and one of the reasons for its success...sharing & caring.  We will all be WINNERS!

Rich thank you for coming up with this great idea for all of us, I'm very excited to be a part of it, and be in such great company of the other teams selected.  Good luck to everyone, and as Linda said, "Let the games begin".  I'm excited too, Liz

Best of luck to all the teams.  I will try to keep up and be supportive.  I know how hard Project Blogger was and I appreciated those who supported the teams, so I will give my best effort to pay attention and be involved as a bystander.

I recently read a post, I think it was Carnac, who called Project Blogger "a yawn".  Very unfair to those who worked so very hard and for so long.

So teams, know that you have my support!  Is there a group we join to stay informed?

I'm not picking any favorites, because there are TOO many people I don't know up there.  I'll just be a cheerleader for the whole project.

Thank you so MUCH for this wonderful opportunity! My mentor, Kimberly Grant, is going to have her hands full with me, for sure!  Start sending "the love" her way. She is going to need it!  I am technically challenged, to say the least. I AM however, a very fierce competitor that requires very little sleep, lol.

What an amazing group we are going up against! I am honored to be competing against all of them.  Non of us will be losers, that's for sure.

Thank Rich, and to the other teams chosen for cheering one another on! Best of luck to all of us.

This should be interesting and rewarding for all.... especially those apprentices working with some good, qualified mentors.

On another note....  I know this is a real estate site and I asked this question when this contest was announced... what about loan officers?  Or even having them a part of this....  just food for thought.

Jeff, I seriously thought about taking on one of my favorite real estate agents as my apprentice. I didn't know how that would work, but she has asked me several times to help her "own" her market and I thought this would have given an interesting perspective.
