Just applied for my third certificate of study from the Institute for Challenging Disorganization. My goal is five by the end of the year. That'll satisfy 1/3 of my Continuing Education requirements for my NAPO CPO status for the next three years and I'll surely be serving my clients even more effectively with what I learn. This latest set of classes was about Client Administration. Sounds awfully formal, but it's just a highfalutin' way of saying "better methods for monitoring progress and following up with clients, and paying attention to details about your sessions with them." Always willing to improve those skills.
As a CPO(® , I'm required to acquire 45 Continuing Education Units every three years to be allowed to maintain my status. A course generally takes one hour: it's a decent bit of new learning over a lifetime. What fascinates me about the materials is that they aren't just for work: I'm using the concepts with my son, my family. It's all about relationships, and building stronger relationships with everyone I come into contact with. It's very satisfying.
