Getting off the beaten path in Flower Mound always takes some courage but I learn so much and I enjoy taking photographs of all the places where I go. Here are some examples that I hope you will enjoy. Every now and then, even a virtual reality can lift someones spirits, so if you're down and out or under the weather, remember The only courage that matters is the kind that gets you from one moment to the next." --- Mignon McLaughlin
We must build dikes of courage to hold back the flood of fear.
--- Martin Luther King, JR
This photo of Natural Bridge was taken while hiking in Northwest Arkansas. It has been featured on Ripley's Believe It or Not. To break through the constant interruptions of Media Madness going on in the world it helps to find the courage to live rather than stay glued to your television and/or Internet News. This area is filled with an abundance of Dogwood and Redbud trees. Dogwood and Redbud grows in Texas too, but when you see them in a forest you begin to appreciate them even more.
America was not built on fear. America was built on courage,
on imagination an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand.
--- Harry S Truman
This photo was taken in the Historic District of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I was across the street, walking out of a coffee shop when these three people and the red truck caught my eye. The mud on the back of the truck, the man with clasped hands looking down, the man in the middle with his cane, and the lady next to them. What's their story? I think this quote from Harry S. Truman is fitting because it represents the Middle Class generation of the 1960's.
Courage is grace under pressure.
--- Earnest Hemingway
Pivot Rock in the Ozarks was very surprising. It was also featured in Ripley's Believe it or Not. By getting off the beaten path in Flower Mound, I learned that during the Paleozoic Era, all of Arkansas was covered by ocean. This rock was pushed out of the earth from the ocean and many people come here to see it, like me! If you're interested in geology, natural history, mountains, and geography, Arkansas is a very interesting place to go. Sometimes, to get away from the pressures of life, it pays to explore other places and stay educated.
A team is where a boy can prove his courage on his own.
A gang is where a coward goest to hide. --- Mickey Mantle
For people who view my blog posts regularly, you may recall this photo was used for an AR contest by AR Member Dick Greenberg. It is what I consider one of my best photos. This quote best summarizes what I would like captioned and remembered - there can be only ONE AMERICAN TEAM. America is home to many beautiful people, places, and things to do. Find the courage to stand up for America and be a part of the American Team, home of the brave.
Patricia's Tip for the Day:
Courage is being scared to death... and saddling up anyway. --- John Wayne
