How to Host a Successful Thanksgiving Dinner

Hi friends! Can you believe it is already November? We sure can't. With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, we thought we would share a few ways to make hosting a Thanksgiving dinner eaiser and more enjoyable. If you have any suggestions you would like to add, we would love your feedback in the comment section!

Plan ahead: Although you may be a pro at doing things at the last minute, hosting a Thanksgiving dinner may not be the best time to use that skill. Writing down a list of everything you need--this includes items such as decorations and drinks--will make your life a lot easier when it comes time to buy everything for the Big Day.

Make it a potluck: Want to host the party but don't want to make all the food? Simply ask your guests to bring their favorite Thanksgiving dish. This relieves stress and who knows-- maybe you will end up discovering an amazing dish that you have never tried before!

Give away leftovers: While we all love leftover turkey and sweet potatoes, we may not love it after four or five times of having it in one week. The solution? Grab gallon size plastic bags at the store and give every guest a bag with leftovers from the Thanksgiving meal (but don't forger to save a little for yourself!)

Don't try to do it alone: It is perfectly okay (and probably necessary) to ask for help when it comes to setting up and cleaning up after the party. When someone asks if they can help, don't be afraid to say yes. Assign a family member or friend to pass out dessert while someone else begins tidying up.

Have FUN: Yes, you read that right. As obvious as this may be, sometimes when we are hosting a party, we forget that we should be having fun! If this means cleaning the dishes the day after, or taking a few minutes to relax and let someone else refill your drink, then give yourself permission to do so!

From all of us at The Berns Team, we hope you have a peaceful and joyful Thanksgiving!
