When I first heard that this was today's holiday, my initial reaction was "oh dear" at how intense it 
sounded. As it turns out though, it doesn't mean you have to make the spicest chili or create a dish you'd find in Wooville (unless you're Dr. Seuss). This day was made purely with the intent for people to step outside of their usual meal routine and try something new out, or even something bold.
My assistant and I were talking about their latest cooking endevors and they are definitely in the area of bold: homemade calzones, carmel apple empanadas, orange chicken with fried rice, funfetti cake mix pancakes... the list goes on! It was impressive and wonderful to hear their new cooking experience and it was obvious the kind of joy they were getting from the new recipes. Tonight's dish is going to be a honey garlic chicken with lemon pepper asparagus, which makes me realize it's a shame that I'm not going over there for dinner tonight!
