Waialae Gardens
Located in Waialae Nui Valley, many consider Waialae Gardens and the neighboring townhomes (Tropic Gardens and Tropicana Village - Makai) as part of the Kahala neighborhood. After all, Kahala Towers are adjacent to Tropic Gardens. The Kahala Mall is on the makai side of the H1 freeway, it takes just a few minutes to walk there from Waialae Gardens.
Waialae Gardens townhomes are primarily two bedroom designs with the living room, kitchen and a half bathroom downstairs with two bedrooms and a larger bathroom upstairs. I say "larger bathroom" because both bathrooms have showers, unless a bathroom has been remodeled to include a bathtub.
We recently listed a two bedroom MLS 201722947 priced at $557,000. The townhome is partially remodeled and a short distance up the walkway from the parking area.
And here's where our listing is located, on the hillside above the townhomes at parking lot level. More secluded, quieter and a better view from upstairs.
The front door leads into the living room - it's bigger than it looks in this picture. The kitchen is in the background, half bathroom across the hall from it and up closer on the right is a storage closet under the stairway leading upstairs.
Here's the view from the bedroom that's directly above the living room. At this level you can see over the neighboring rooftops with a view of Kahala Towers.
The larger bedroom is in back, directly above the kitchen. This unit's view from the larger bedroom is green - that is, a "garden view" looking directly at trees and bushes.
The upstairs bathroom is at the top of the stairway and closer to the rear bedroom. The glass on the left side of the photo is the shower stall. It's a bit of a squeeze - nice to have two bathrooms (one upstairs, one downstairs).
Waialae Gardens townhomes were built in 1966 and are a good choice for those persons wanting to live in the Kahala area. There aren't any "new" townhomes or condos in the neighborhood - Kakaako is the place to go for new construction.
Most of the units have one parking stall, a few (very few) have two parking. Luckily, street parking is available . If you're looking at living in the Kahala area, feel free to contact me!
