Have a Great Veterans Day: Thank Veterans for their service!
This Saturday, November 11th, 2017 is a day, we honor all veterans, living or dead. We stand united to praise the men and women of our armed forces. Many confuse it with Memorial Day so just to be clear this day is for all veterans!
We should never forget the fact that it is because of them, we enjoy the freedom to vote, criticize our politicians and enjoy all things other nations are jealous of. Veterans never forget what they did, neither should we!
We stand shoulder to shoulder with all veterans whether we shared the same foxhole or just the same experiences.
Did you know, that the actual origin of Veterans Day goes back to November 11, 1919; it was the first anniversary of the end of World War I. It was called “Armistice Day” and only in 1954 was the name changed to Veterans Day to honor all those who served in all American wars.
Just a small trivia I would like to share with you: according to the Census Bureau Statistics of 2015 there approximately 21.5 million living veterans in the United States. That is less than 10 per cent of our population. These brave men and women protected and are still protecting our liberties and freedom to enjoy free speech. I am proud to be a member of this small minority group!
I wish you all to have a great Veterans Day with friends and family, wherever you may be. When you have, a moment, please thank a Veteran for their service not just today but any day you can show your appreciation.
