Today, I am thankful for my health and the health of my loved ones.
I bring this up because recently two girlfriends of mine have lost their husbands after lengthy illnesses. And my heart goes out to them, both when they went through months of being primary caregivers and then being left alone to deal with life without their mate.
Watching close friends go through this made me realize that life can change in an instant, and to take advantage of all the good things around us. Not to take it for granted.
Here's an example:
I tend to be very focused on work and often don't participate in activities that could be fun.
Happily, I have several friends who don't take no for an answer when I say I'm too busy to attend some of the functions around town. And what was the outcome?
This "networking" has been very good for business! Go figure...
So I am "thankful" on this 12th day of November.
