Sometimes silence is suspicious.

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with WHISPERING PINES REALTY 20398180

We have all seen this.

Someone talking fast like they are trying to hide something.

Or they are trying to divert the blame.

Sometimes it is just the opposite.

It is many times best to stay quiet and just listen.

It also depends on who you are.

Are you one to talk or stay quiet.  If your personality changes it puts a target on you.

So, to avoid things, it is best to stay within your personality.   And always speak the truth,

Good morning William.

Sometimes silence is golden.  If I don't have anything to add to the discussion my lips are sealed

I am more of a quiet person.... and everyone who's ever worked for me knew that the quieter I got, probably the madder I was about something. So they knew to watch out then, as well.

This is very true and not a jury in the world would find this one innocent.

I'm like Barbara Todero and try to control my participation.  But, I often fail in that endeavor!

If I feel a client is overstepping or heading in the wrong direction, I tend to stop listening and start talking. Can't help myself. If a client is upset, then listening is always the very best thing to do because you can't begin to help a person if you don't know what's wrong.

Further, people like to be heard before they will listen or care what you have to say.

Hi Bill, This dachshund is an awful lot like the little children my wife works with - in her professional you learn quickly when silence is golden or suspicious.
