Hi Nina Hollander, I went to the store yesterday afternoon and had a hard time finding a parking spot which got me puzzled. I realized then, we are about a week away from Thanksgiving. There are great options to dine out for those who are not planning on cooking.

One year, I visited my Aunt in Sacramento on Thanksgiving. It was the only year spent dining out in a restaurant. It was actually quite fun, but we prefer to have a full day of cooking at home. D

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD ~ I get that, Debb. In our case, we have no family living anywhere near us, so unless we are invited to the home of friends we eat out. Too much work for just two people.

Nina Hollander - This is good to know. Not everyone has a family meal for Thanksgiving in a home with family and/or friends. Knowing where to go and where people can get a good Thanksgiving dinner is really thoughtful.

Patricia Feager ~ hi Patricia... I remember when it was virtually impossible to eat out on Thanksgiving Day... now lots of people seem to prefer doing that to spending all day in a kitchen. I know that I do... plus no leftovers to get fat on.

You're lucky to have so many places to go in Charlotte, Nina. In Sacramento, reservations need to be made in October to snag a top dining spot in town. Otherwise, you're stuck with a big chain.

Hi Nina.  That sounds like a lot of great choices.  The only time I remember eating in a restaurant for Thanksgiving is when my husband and I were at the beach for a week.   It was quite the meal too!   Christmas may be in a restaurant this year, though. I'll be in Arizona.

Hi Nina

Nice to see so many options for Thanksgiving dinner if people choose to dine out. Not something I have ever done, or want to, but I know some who prefer it. There may come a day...

Jeff

Jeff Dowler ~ hi Jeff... I've been dining out for years... either in a restaurant or at the homes of friends. Even when we had lots of family living nearby, I didn't cook for Thanksgiving... I did Christmas Eve... so Thanksgiving was someone else's lookout.
