I am Thankful for my Buddy
Buddy is my four-year-old Chocolate Lab who brings so much joy into my life. When I’m sick, he’s by my side, when I’m happy, he’s there with me, when I come home, he greets me with his wet kisses. All he asks in return is my love..ok..treats too.
One of my friends posted on Facebook last week that a dog fell out of a truck as she was driving and the driver kept going. She stopped and picked up this beautiful fur baby, took him to the vet as his face was bleeding and now has him at her house. He doesn’t have a chip, she posted in all the local pages but no one has claimed him yet. I guess Christmas arrived early for her.
Those of us with pets know that they are part of our family, they’re no different than our children. Those are the lucky ones. There are so many who are waiting to be adopted, living in tiny cages for the most part. They’re fed and cared for but they need homes, they need love, they need us. If you are open to having pets, please consider an adoption from a shelter. There are so many older dogs who quietly sit in their cages and perk up when they see a human. Let them show you what love is.
Clermont is where I live, play and work. There are so many ways we can help grow our communities, one way of doing that is to establish friendships which my job allows me so I can help others whether be finding a home for a fur baby or finding a home for someone who is looking for room for them to run around in.
This is an entry to the contest Debbie Reynolds is hosting this month.
