12 Days of Thanks Giving 2017 #3

Today is day 3 of the "12 Days of Thanks Giving 2017- ActiveRain Challenge"  

offered by Debbie Reynolds. 

I am thankful for our country, warts and all. I'm thankful that in The United States of America everyone has the opportunity to build a life they dream of. If we are willing to commit and persevere we will reach our goals.

For these things to happen we must commit part of our lives to giving back by serving in our communities, ensuring we act on our obligation to vote, and dedicate ourselves to being an inclusive nation by following the 'rule of law' and ensuring all are treated fairly, even amongst our differences. 

So for these first 3 days of this challenge, I am indebted to and can never repay that debt to my God, My Wife, and My Country for all they have given me.

I was working with a Brazilian woman who was a waitress at a small local eatery I eat at most every lunch. She was here legally on a green card with her husband and kids. Her parents have been here for 20 years and her sister is here. For some technicality reason, ICE told her they had to leave the country and start the process over. I sent her to our Federal Rep and Sen. Warren to ask for their help. They would not even respond to her YET they'll fight tooth and nail to keep someone here illegally here. We now have a sponsor for her so hopefully, things will turn out for teh good.

This may sound trivial, but he fact that we can even sign on to AR and communicate with each other is such a great privilege.
