Thankful for Mistakes! Day 3
Yesterday was one of those whirl wind days with lots of balls bouncing and not enough time. Jan Green and I had planned to meetup at 5:00 to discuss an upcoming CRS event I'm putting together for 2018 of which I'd love to have her do her Eco Green Class for the agents.
I happened to jump on FB while I was waiting in a line and saw a sweet picture of Jan and her grandson. I left a comment and added - See you at 4:30! I went on my way and about a half hour later I saw she left me a comment - I thought we were meeting at 5:00? Well that was even better for me so I responded quickly and said - that's great see you at 5:00! Whew that gave an extra half hour to finish a project!
On the way to where we had planned to meet, BJ's Restaurant, Jan called me and said are you here yet? No but I'll be there in 5 minutes, stuck on the 101. She says, I'm going to go home and back and it will only take me 10 minutes. Well I thought that made no zero sense as it would take her at least 30 minutes. I said - WHERE ARE YOU? She was at Picasso's (where we've met many times before). I said - STAY THERE! I'll just go south on Tatum instead of north and be there in 10+ minutes - then you can rush home and back and all is good!! Nothing like heading back to basically where I'd come from!
As I'm heading south Jan calls me again and says, you ok with meeting someplace else? Sure why not, where? Salty Sow which is basically across the street from Picasso's. Ok see you there! A few minutes later we finally meetup!
WOW what a great mistake that was! The Salty Sow is a fabulous place, in fact we'll be hosting the next AR meetup there and a few other events too! And ..... as it turns out Monday was our LUCKY NIGHT! The friendly waiter announced it was half price night on all wines. ( Can you see us both smiling at that point:):) So we both decided to Start the Holidays a bit early and enjoy champagne! So you see mistakes sometimes turn out really great but only IF we let them and go with the flow! Both Jan and I are good about not going nuts when things get crazy. And we're both real good at staying calm and enjoying the moment and turning things around to a postive.
PS The picture of Jan was taken at the SandBar where we've also hosted many AR meetups. Jan met the perfect guy there that night!!
